I just read an article on Ryan Carson’s blog where he complaints about the insane payments terms standards in the European countries. I wasn’t surprised to see that in Italy we have the longest average that is 90 days from the invoice because I did some consultancy time ago and I was usually payed 3 months after my clients received my invoices. What is awfull is that Italy is the European country with the longest payment time ever!
It comes to no surpise that the young Italians prefer a “stable” work in a company instead of freelancing or entrepreneurship!
Wow! What a nice weekend! Techtalk Italia, the event organized by Lorenzo Viscanti, has been as success.
The place was amazing and I enjoyed seeing again some old friend and meeting a lot of nice and interesting people. Talking about the future of the Web in Italy around the swimming pool felt a bit like being in the sunny California! ![]()
I’m sure that something good will come out from this and from the next meetings, I feel that the things are moving in Italy and the people want to do big things! It’s time!

While looking for my lost posts I’ve found that you can get back the last fetched feed from Google Reader from the URL below:
Then I got back about 50 posts from my lost pixzone.com blog in atom format.
My next step is to create a small converter from Atom to Wordpress Extended RSS (WXR) format that I can use to import back the posts in Wordpress, I already found some Ruby code for reference.
Update: I’ve created a small perl script to convert the Atom generated by Google Reader to the Wordpress Extended RSS (WXR) format, you’ll find the Perl source below. You’ll also need to patch the wp_create_post() function in wp-include/post.php to keep the post IDs unchanged if you have included the post ID in the permalink and you don’t want to have a lot of 404s in your logs!
